Social Care Home

I've been looking for a care home for my elderly mother for months now and there's not much choice in the Upper Arlen Hill area. I don't really want to sned her to somewhere far away as I am still keen to visit her often. Has the council considered building one or re-purposing an existing building for a care home?

I'm willing to pay and the Council doesn't need to fund the care, but there just isn't good options here in Arlen Hill.

Why the contribution is important

There is a large elderly community here in Upper Arlen Hill and I think it is important for the Council to take reponsibility and provide adequate social care for them.

    I'm totally in the same boat as you janedoe999 - my father is currently in a care home about 1.5 hours away in the next town and its just too far to visit him on a regular basis. We really do need better social care here in Arlen Hill and the council should consider supporting this idea.

    How about social housing for the elderly where they are still able to look after themselves and have their independence but perhaps feel lonely. If they were able to live in a community with other elderly residents it could greatly improve their quality of life.

    This could be an alternative or in addition to just building a care home.

    A lot of my friends would echo this issue. We're all finding it difficult to look for accommodation for our elderly parents in the area. Some of them have lived in Arlen Hill most of their lives and it would be a shame to be moving them out now! The Council need to consider options to help the residents on this issue, this idea being a very good option.
