A summer street festival?

Could the Council organise an annual high street festival to celebrate the independent shops and small busineeses on the Upper Arlen Hill high street?

Why the contribution is important

The Upper Arlen Hill high street has fantastic shops and small businesses. I personally shop there all the time and I think theres a real sense of community, especially with the shop keepers.

I don't want to see the high street overtaken by big companies and chain stores as that will be a shame and it will loose its character. I think the Council could arrange a festival to celebrate the diversity of the high street and bring all the community in to explore and drum up traffic and interest. This will help to the businesses greatly!

    This sounds like a great idea. A festival atmosphere could bring a real vibrancy back into the community. Perhaps we could even have a different theme to the street festivals each year?

    There are some fantastic local/independent shops in Upper Arlen Hill, I just wish more people would visit them. This would be a great platform for some promotion and to drum up some much needed business.

    A personal favourite is the spanish charcuterie shop - their chorizo is excellent!

    What a wonderful idea! We could have our own little yearly festival! It would be a welcome new tradition.
