Introduce Goats

We could introduce a herd of tame goats to live wild in the park. Their constant grazing would save thousands in landscaping costs, and they would by their very presence function as a low-maintenance petting zoo. They are robust creatures, our winters are mild, and they would require no additional shelter or sustenance.

Why the contribution is important

As money has been a problem in the past, so it probably will be in the future. We therefore need to implement sustainable changes that do not put a significant long term financial burden on the council. Also, everyone loves a goat!

This is a marvelous idea! I would suggest Alpacas instead of goats. They are hardy creatures occupying a similar grazing niche, and their fur would provide an additional revenue source that would defray any veterinary or other maintenance costs.

Nice idea, but the problem with alpacas is that they are much more particular about what they eat, which means that they cannot be relied upon to keep all the plants in check. I do like your idea of wool production as an auxiliary revenue stream! Do you think Angora goats might be a suitable middle ground?

Would it be permissible to hunt said goats for meat?

Obviously not, or we face a Tragedy of the Commons. Besides, they're more valuable alive for their grazing and their wool. I assume you weren't being serious?
